“Risk Management: Building a Defensible Claim with the Help of Employees” This course will provide recommendations for specific steps to be taken following an accident which will improve investigation and evidence preservation. This course will also discuss best practices in witness interviews and file documentation to help avoid lost or destroyed evidence. It provides real world examples of things that have gone wrong during claims investigation and how to avoid them. By identifying pitfalls in the investigation process and discussing the legal consequences that could result in monetary or case-ending sanctions for lost or destroyed evidence, this course will provide attendee with a sense of what can go wrong and the consequences when it does. In addition, attendees will learn about information that is protected by the attorney-client privilege or in anticipation of litigation protection and how to document the file to maximize application of the privileges.
